BRS and United Concordia Companies Offer Reduced Cost Claims

BRS Computing is pleased to announce a partnership with United Concordia Companies (UCCI), including a special program for rebates on UCCI electronic claims submission.  Please note that this special pricing and rebate do not apply to dental practices located in the state of Maryland.

Effective January 1, 2001, claims submitted for the major lines of business to UCCI, including Pennsylvania Blue Cross/Blue Shield, are eligible for a rebate of $0.30 per claim, resulting in an effective cost of $0.20 per claim.  We encourage all clients to maximize the volume of UCCI claims submitted electronically, as your cost has been substantially reduced.  The lines of business included in the UCCI rebate program are Pennsylvania BC/BS, UCCI Dental, Concordia Plus, Tricare Dental Plan (formerly Tricare FMDP and  Champus), and United Concordia.  Call United Concordia at 1-800-633-5430 to register for electronic claims.  You may also find information on the Internet at http://www.ucci.com/was/ucciweb/electronic/elecservices.jsp.

The program details:

1.  The UCCI rebate program is open only to registered DOM for Windows users that have signed the BRS Electronic Claim Registration Form, and that have completed UCCI Dental EDI Authorization.  Dental practices (with the exception of those located in Maryland) must indicate "BRS" as the claims clearinghouse when registering with UCCI.

2.  Lines of business not specifically included in the above list will not be covered by the rebate.

3.  Claims to be covered by the rebate program must be submitted electronically to BRS for direct transmission to UCCI.  Claims submitted through WebMD-emdeon Business Services as non-participating payers or through the All-Payer program are not eligible for rebates or special pricing.

4.  Rebates may not apply to claims rejected by UCCI.  This is a condition of the rebate program as structured by UCCI.

5.  Claim rebates may appear as credits the month AFTER the original invoice for electronic claims services.  In order to participate in the rebate program, your BRS account must be kept current.

6.  The rebate program is subject to change or cancellation upon 30 day notice by BRS Computing or UCCI.

7.  Due to additional state regulations, standard claims pricing and the UCCI rebate program are NOT available to dental practices located in the state of Maryland.  UCCI claims originating from dental practices in Maryland are routed through WebMD-emdeon Business Services, and are charged at the non-participating eclaims rate.  Dental practices located in Maryland may register with UCCI for eclaims submission, but must indicate "WebMD-emdeon Business Services" as the clearinghouse.
