CDT-2007/2008 Procedure Codes

The American Dental Association (“ADA”) revised the treatment code list effective January 1, 2007. CDT-2007/2008 (Current Dental Terminology, 2007-2008 edition) included several new codes, and a number of codes with revised nomenclatures or revised descriptors. Several codes were deleted. CDT-2007/2008 follows the same general format for insurance reporting as the CDT-4 edition, with the letter "D" followed by four digits.

In the DOM for Windows system, when setting up new codes it is not necessary to include the letter "D" or any leading zeroes. For example, if adding the new code D0180, Comprehensive Periodontal Evaluation, you could add the code as "180", and the DOM program will automatically add the "D0" portion when printing insurance forms or sending electronic claims.
